Attention! - - - Membership Notice - - -

If you know you paid your dues for 2012 and you received another notice from National Headquarters, disregard the notice and throw it away.
If you are not sure or have any doubts, contact Ted Lanske 319-240-0734 or tedsph98@aol.com and I will check it out and get in touch with you.
There is always a delay, from the time the Post gets your dues, passes through the State Department and National records it. Efforts are being made to minimize this problem, but every year a number of these happen.
Please do not get upset, but accept my apology for the inconvenience.

Poppies

         In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
                 In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
              In Flanders fields.

Composed at the battlefront on May 3, 1915 during the second battle of Ypres, Belgium by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, Canadian Army, Medical Corps
