Nominations and Elections: The AMVETS National Constitution mandates that posts hold their annual officers election between May 1 and June 30. Within 30 days of the election, posts must forward, to the department and National Headquarters, documentation stating the names of their newly elected officers. Post revalidation must occur no later than July 15. Elected and appointed officers may be installed and assume office no later than July 15.
