Newsletter:
Please notify the Post if your
address has changed or if you go away for the winter (even for a
month). We are charged by the Post Office
$.44 for each return newsletter. Any returned
newsletter
will remove you
from the mailing list. If you prefer to go on line and not receive
a newsletter by mail, please let the Club know
so you can be taken off the mailing list. We
don’t send the newsletter to your email address as you can access it on the Waverly Veterans
website.

Meal Nights: Orders from the regular menu will not be accepted until 7:30 pm. The meal
rush will be over
then, allowing more time and space for the bartenders to cook. Meal Night Serving Time: 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Flags: The VFW has 3’x 5’ American Flags for sale. The cost is $20 each and the flags are available at the
Post Canteen. Some Iowa & POW/MIA flags are also on hand and others can be ordered.
Returning Vets: VFW Post 2208 would like to give a VFW membership to all qualified returning military personnel.
Those eligible for the
“Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal” are eligible for membership
in the VFW. If you have a family member or know of someone who served and qualifies, please let
us know so we can get in contact with him or her.

Memorial Day: Thursday May 26 – 9 am Placement of grave flags at Harlington Cemetery
Saturday May 28 – 9 am Placement of Avenue of Flags at Harlington Cemetery
Monday May 30- 10 am Assemble for parade at Waverly Civic Center-Parade starts at 10:30
Luncheon served by Amvets following parade at the VFW Post 2208
Monday May 30 – 2 pm Removal of Grave Flags 4 pm Removal of Avenue of Flags
Monday May 30 – 4:30 pm Hors d'oeuvres served for Flag Volunteers at the VFW
Volunteers are needed and appreciated at any of these activities, especially with placement of flags, both grave side and Avenue and with removal and storage. Stop by and offer to help, even 15 or 20 minutes makes the work easier for all.
