 The Bremer County, Iowa
Veteran Quarterly is published by The Bremer County Veterans
Affairs Office which provides information and assistance to all
Veterans in Applying for Federal, State and Local VA
Benefits, as well as referrals to community resources.
They are available as speakers on Veterans Affairs,
Federal, State, and County Benefits,as well as bringing
a display and resources to community events. Please call
the office for information and scheduling.
Bremer County funds emergency assistance to resident
Veterans based on need. They provide van rides to VA
medical facilities, including Iowa City VA Medical
Center, the Waterloo Outpatient Clinic and to the Cedar
Rapids Vet Center. If you require travel to another
facility, we coordinate with other counties, depending
on your needs.

 The Iowa Veterans Cemetery is located 10 miles west of Des Moines, Iowa in Dallas County near the community of Van Meter (Interstate 80, Exit 113). It provides burial benefits for honorably discharged veterans, their spouses, and eligible dependents. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on November 11, 2006. Construction began in late July 2007. The cemetery was dedicated on July 3, 2008 with interments beginning on July 7, 2008.
